How does mass media shape the public's agenda of issues?

Mass media is a major source of knowledge, it is where almost everybody obtains information about daily news. Without the media we wouldn't be able to be as knowledgeable about the world as we are today. Without it we would only know the news of our towns through speeches from other people. Because of the media we are able to access accurate and quick information about what is going on in the world. Therefore, media shapes the public agenda of issues by having in obtainable anywhere and at any time. Media can be obtain by watching TV, listening to the radio, searching the web, or reading a newspaper. It shapes our view on specific issues because we can formulate an opinion based off of what we hear.Gaining attention on
specific issues is an important aspect in getting things done and formulating opinions. Because of the media, world issues such as global warming can be brought to the attention of billions of people, and people can become aware of the problem and try to fix it. Without media issues and debates wouldn't be as acknowledged as they are today.
