How does mass media reflect a political system globally?

Mass media reflects a political system globally due to the fact that the government can either control or allow for the freedom of the press. There are usually two types of government which are authoritarian and libertarian. In an authoritarian government the mass media is usually correlated with pre-publication censorship, which means authorities preview all material before it gets put on air. In a libertarian government they allow the freedom of the press. Since the U.S. is a libertarian government we are allowed to practice the freedom of press, however there are some rules and regulations that we must follow. As you can see the mass media is reflected in the political system, however its freedom is determined by the government of particular countries.
