Media technology is ever changing which means the way in which we are entertained is always changing. We have so many different ways to entertain ourselves now a days that if one chooses to do so, they can be constantly entertained 24/7.
It’s not longer just reading, or radio, or simple movies and music; it’s HDTV, satellite radio, 3-D movies or IMAX. People no longer go out in public to be entertained, everything is being reined back into at home (expensive) entertainment. Group entertainment, like going out with a group of friends is dwindling because of these advances. Interpersonal relationships are gone because it’s easier to text someone or even facebook them. Pretty soon people will be able to live their lives in a chair with no one around and be completely content. This is what audiences are asking for, people are able to sit at home and enjoy their favorite movie/music/book instantly without having to go out to get them or see them.
