Today, technology is a vital piece of human life. Printing technology became popular when Johannes Gutenberg invented the movable metal type in the mid 1440s. When the Industrial Revolution began in the 1800s, machines became a popular form of technology. Recording became popular when the Phonograph was discovered. Movies became popular. In the 1900s, radio waves were discovered and radio stations appeared. Television, internet, and more all became important sources of technology for everyone. So, when we look back to the past and discover how important technology was in history, we realize how dependent it is to us today.
Can you think back to any day that you have gone without talking or texting on your cell phone, watching television, going on the computer, or listening to your iPod? Technology has become such an essential part of people's everyday lives that we'd be lost without it. We are surrounded by technology and media every single day, sometimes we don't even realize it; and sometimes we take it for granted.
