What is technology dependence?

Technology dependence is based off of the idea that technology is “basic in mass communication”. This meaning being that if technology didn’t exist we wouldn’t be able to do half the things we can do today. For example without the invention of the printing press books wouldn’t exists and without electronic technology there wouldn’t be television, the Internet or radio. Without these technological advancements people would have a much harder time communicating. Living in the world we do today it’s hard to imagine having to communicate without using technology like people did for centuries. Without technology mass communication would be extremely difficult. This idea proves that we have formed a dependence on communicating through technology. Weather it be through microphones or television our dependence on technology has become a necessity. With large auditoriums and large crowds of people we wouldn’t be able to communicate without technology.
