How has mass media technology changed the way audiences are entertained?

The mass audience still obtains their media through two ways, seeing it and hearing it. Campfire music is now condensed into a small electronic device and paintings on a cave wall that told stories are now displayed through motion picture. Technology has changed the way audiences receive music and watch stories. Things like the television or the IPod are fairly new to our generation and still technology seems to be expanding. Our generation has the IPod, which sometimes is an incomprehensible object for the elders. They do not understand how songs can be placed on a small device without having a cassette or disc inserted. Technology has expanded and created new ways for us to appreciate media. We appreciate it because we can relax and be entertained or we can take the entertainment with us. Not long ago, television was only in black and white. There was even a point where television did not have sound. Now a day, we can go see a movie with a 3D effect. Media has always been focused on what the audience wants. What the audience wants is to be entertained. The improvement of technology has made it easier to give that to the audience.
