The popularity of blogs and the internet have changed the way media is reported because people are now able to access all information about any news at any given time. Newspaper and magazine companies are struggling to survive because if the internet gives people the same information free of charge, then they are more likely to surf the web for the latest news and gossip, rather than spend money on subscriptions, especially in today’s recession. Blogs and the internet make it easier to receive information quicker because each story is updated every few minutes, with new articles posted on the same subject.
The way media is reported is important because it can change the way a story is presented. Blogs make each story its own because bloggers can give their personal opinions without any filter. When people read a story, they are able to access both sides of that story because different websites provide different views of each article. The internet is a place of exploration; people can spend hours browsing through the web and viewing different articles about the same topic. The way media is reported has changed dramatically over the past decade because now though the internet, people have access to every side of stories as well as the availability of blogs to voice their opinions.
