“Blogging not only is important in the new media landscape but for spawning a wide range of user-generated Internet content”(193). It is very clear that with the creation of the Internet and later of blogs, that the way news is reported has changed drastically. Before the Internet news was reported via TV, paper, word of mouth, and radio. But since the invention of the Internet, the popularity of those have gone down. Using the internet to get news is incredibly easy. You can choose what you want to read, how much you want to read, and when you want to read it. Or you can even watch news clips too. Blogs on the other hand are a way that people can rant about their opinions on certain subjects. “Blogs have become a distinct and influential mass medium”(193). Millions of people blog or read others blogs and leave comments. They have a conversation online with each other, and try to convince each other of what they believe. The blogs have become a way for people to get involved in something that they normally would never do. Interacting on the Internet is much easier than calling a TV station or radio station.
