Who are the gatekeepers of news? How eefective is investigative reporting in informing the public?

The gatekeepers of news are the final link in the story chain before the script can be printed and be said on air . This job requires a variety of responsibilities such as,deciding when the subject airs on TV and making sure requirements are being met. Some requirements include the length, and making sure the contents are appropriate for the targeted age group.Investigative reporting is very effective in informing the public because it gets the cold harded facts about a story. This type of reporting allows viewers to see the real side of the story by collecting information that is very detailed because it usually has to do with a specific topic. Investigative reporting usually involves reports involving crime, political corruption or corporate wrongdoing.
