How Has Conglomeration Changed the Movie and Television Industry?

Conglomeration has changed the movie and television industry because it brought them into common ownership. Conglomerations were giant enterprises, such as Time Warner, generating revenues of $37 billion a year from movies, books, television, magazines, online sites, and other media operations. They were making such greats profits that investors and other companies wanted to get involved. Therefore, the common goal was to improve products to return their investments. TV shows become so popular that they turned into movies, creating a franchise, such as Superman. Now, still, people want TVs shows to become movies and then they want sequels. If successful, and popular, the demand is high, the profit is increased, and the companies are successful. At one point in TV, ABC, NBC, and CBS were the big three. Now it’s Disney, NBC Universal, and News Corp. The big six of the movie industry are Paramount, Disney, Columbia, 20th Century Fox, Universal, and Warner. These giant companies have control over all aspects of the movie and television industry where they all take in a very large profit.
